Bourke Gardens Extra Care celebrates its official opening
Salford’s Ceremonial Mayor, Councillor Karen Garrido and Tom Jones, the first customer to move into Bourke Gardens, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening.
The 56 unit facility sits proudly in the heart of Walkden and allows customers to live independently with peace of mind that support is there when it’s needed.
The weather was kind and everyone enjoyed the afternoon. Customers and partners took the opportunity to tour the building to see first hand the accommodation and range of activities provided whilst customers enjoyed afternoon tea and entertainment.
The £6.8 million extra care development will provide a lifeline for an increasing number of people and their families, bridging the gap between health, social care and housing services, allowing people to enjoy a good quality of life for longer whilst living independently in their own home.
